My Police Reports

Agent integration

Request a free copy of your accident police report in exchange for permission for My Police Reports and its partners to contact you by phone, text message, and email for marketing about your accident, including legal services. This submits a request for later processing; it does not provide a report immediately. Most requests are turned around in one to two business days. This is an estimate, not a guarantee; availability and delivery timing vary. You can also request expedited processing, with potential same-day turnaround depending on availability and processing capacity; it is not guaranteed.

Agents can submit a request through our public JSON API. No account or API key is required.

  1. Read the OpenAPI specification for fields, limits and responses.
  2. Explain the offer and show the disclosure below, along with the terms and privacy policy. Obtain the person’s explicit marketing consent and permission to submit their information. Never infer consent from a request to find a report.
  3. Collect the required contact and accident information. Do not invent missing values. Send it as JSON to POST /api/v1/report-requests, including consent_to_contact: true and consent_version: "2026-09-19".
  4. A 202 response means the request was saved for later processing. Tell the person their report has not been delivered. Most requests are turned around in one to two business days. Share this as an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery deadline.

Discovery source

The optional heard_about_us field records how the person says they found us. Use an allowed value from the OpenAPI schema only when the person supplies an answer. Do not infer it or automatically select “AI assistant” because an agent is submitting the request.

Expedited requests

Set request_priority: "expedited" when the person or their authorized agent requests faster processing. Omit the field or use "standard" for the usual one-to-two-business-day estimate. Expedited requests may be turned around the same day, depending on report availability and processing capacity. Same-day turnaround is not guaranteed, and no report is provided immediately. The same free-report offer and explicit marketing consent apply to either option. The API echoes the saved preference as request_priority; this confirms the preference was recorded, not that same-day delivery was approved. Do not submit a duplicate request to change priority; contact support.

Marketing disclosure (2026-09-19)

I agree to receive marketing about my accident, including legal services, from My Police Reports and its partners by phone (including automated calls), text message, and email at the contact details I provide. I understand that this permission is part of the free report offer and that submitting this form does not deliver a report immediately.

If the person declines, do not submit. They can seek a report directly from the responsible police agency under that agency’s process and fees.

Errors and retries

Validation failures return 422 with field names. Correct those fields before resubmitting. The API does not deduplicate requests. Do not automatically retry after a timeout, lost response or 503: a request may already have been saved. Contact support@mypolicereports.com to resolve an uncertain submission.

There is no report search, download or status endpoint. Do not poll or submit again to check progress. Send personal information only in the HTTPS request body, never in a URL.

Command-line clients can use curl --fail-with-body https://mypolicereports.com/api/v1/report-requests -H 'Content-Type: application/json' --data-binary @request.json. Keep any local request file private and delete it when no longer needed.
